I have never seen a cabinet like this- I purchased it at a local estate sale in Glen rock, Pa. The Estate described it as a Traveling pantry cabinet p ossibly from a traveling store that would go from town to town and sell specialty items and goods- mid/late 1800's. It has a large cylinder with a sifter for flour and many compartments which feed from the top into the bottom that probably held sugars. Spices, etc. It also has a grinder on the side which I believe is for coffee and a hook that pulls out to hang a scale or basket from. The top has a clock that slide in and it is in working order. The cabinet measures 31 1/4" across by 18 1/4" wide and 45 1/2" tall- The table measures 41 7/8" across by 23 1/4" wide and 29 1/4" tall. The box states"sugar dispenser" The instructions list a flour dispenser as well. Not sure what the difference would be, but this has a flour sifter type handle at the bottom. It is in great structural condition with no damage or heavy pitting. It does have a a good bit of surface rust that should clean up with some steel wool or fine emery cloth. The metal is rusty and is rusted through in 3 or 4 spots. The oak front needs to be reattached. It has the original handle and oak front. It needs an opening to be about 15 1/2" wide. 20 1/2" deep, and 9 1/4" tall. Those are the measurements of the drawer. Others are currently listed separately. Vintage Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet w/Copper& Slag Glass Doors This is a gorgeous old kitchen'Hoosier style' cupboard. It has the base. The hutch and a beautiful copper topped counter that does indeed pull out on the base. The top hutch has three doors on the top part with leaded Slag Glass in green and white milk-glass. These appear to have been added to the doors some time ago when this piece appears to have been refinished. The lower part of the upper hutch have two larger wooden doors. The outside of the right door appears to have sustained surface water damage to it some time ago. The bottom base part has one large latching door on the left side that reveals a metal lined storage bin with one wire rack making a shelf in it. The right side has three drawers where the twop two right side drawers are in wood and the ... more bottom right drawer is lined in tin/metal. The counter is simply beautiful. The counter was resurfaced in a solid sheet of copper sometime ago when the entire piece was lightly refinished. The copper counter has a nice protective coat of varnish or poly on it as does the entire piece. The sheen is in a nice soft gloss. Not a shreakingly heavy gloss that makes one put on sunglasses just to look at it. This piece is on metal casters with wood wheels and is easy to move if needed. The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece. However some of the upper hardware appears to have either been moved during the restoration or have been replaced. All the hardware appears to be correct for the piece, I just can not swear it is all orginal to the piece. The family reports that they just remember this piece being as it has always been so the restoration work done on this piece was done at least more than 40-50 years ago. It measures about 4 3/4" long including handle. About 2 3/4" wide at wider end and about 2 3/4" tall at taller end. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple mild straw marks on the interior, done in the making. There is a slight bit of excess glass at mold seams on handle end, also done in the making. This was just removed off of a junk hoosier cabinet base that had a porcelain top dated 1911. This is a solid oak wood rack that came off the inside of the large door on the base. No screws are included for the piece. Made of all oak the dowels are thru drilled then edge nailed to hold them in place, gives it a rough, primitive appearance. The finish is original and while dirty it has great patina. The shelf portion has bowed over time from weight, truly helps show it's age. The upper door and back& lower doors and the drawer fronts are metal. All of the metal is painted to make it appear to be made out of copper. One of the things I see that make it appear to be a salesman sample is the hardware.
