What'due south New

Version 1.12.2

Version one.12.2:

This update improves an open in Apollo effect, as well as a few other small issues.

Version 1.12.ane:

Here'southward an update with some handy issues fixes and improvements based on great feedback from the Christmas update. Read on!

+ A new, really cool icon from Yannick Lung. Information technology's of the Apollo mascot in an old school scuba suit past the incredible Yannick Lung, and I love how the details really make it feel like an icon from a nostalgic era of time passed. Have been enjoying it a lot on the ol' dwelling house screen.
+ Improvements to tabular array rendering. Thank you y'all for sending in some great examples of tables that (aslope Apollo's new inline table renderer) weren't quite displaying properly, and so I've tidied those all up so they should brandish gorgeously at present.
+ Also tweaked layout algorithm a bit so that some tables that were a bit cramped should display nicer now.
+ Fixed issues where the "Quote" option in "Select Text" mode and in the comment composer wouldn't show up.
+ Stock-still bug where the subscriber count and number of currently active accounts wasn't showing upward in the sidebar (and also added the short subreddit description to the elevation of information technology).
+ Fixed issues where some links wouldn't be tappable or but the subreddit/user role would be if it was a Reddit link.
+ Stock-still a bug where tapping on some user or subreddit links could jump you lot into the browser/out of Apollo rather than staying in the app (same with Wikipedia links, fixed as well).
+ Fixed issues where preview text (like for a text mail service in a subreddit, or underneath an Inbox particular) was too dark, made it a bit lighter like before so as to blend in better
+ Fixed a bug with some escaped Markdown characters and those inside lawmaking blocks.
+ Stock-still a bug around newlines/line breaks in Markdown.
+ Fixed a issues where sometimes you could get a duplicate notification.
+ Fixed bug where text in private messages could be visually hard to read due to low dissimilarity.
+ If you tap on a link to u/me, it'll properly load your profile at present.
+ Added option in Settings tab > General to share Reddit links as their "former.reddit" version.
+ Fixed bug where Apollo was mean to usernames with hyphens in them.
+ Fixed problems where when comments loaded cocky text could refresh/flash in a not-absurd way.
+ Fixed issues where couldn't select the title of the post in "Select Text" mode.
+ If you tap on a timestamped YouTube video it volition now open to that fourth dimension.
+ Limits comment link previews to 5.
+ Fixed bug where subreddit rules could become cutting off at the top slightly.
+ Flattened large groups of newlines in a comment/post into just ii.
+ Fixed bug where code blocks could get cutting off at the bottom.
+ Fixed bug where widgets would not evidence up on iOS 14.
+ A set up for a crash that could occur on iOS 12 devices. Really distressing nearly that one, foreign issues that was only everything should be in tip top shape now. Equally a annotation, after this update (1.12.1) Apollo volition likely require iOS 14 and college for further updates. You'll withal be able to run Apollo on iOS 12 and xiii just as you were before, but new updates will require iOS fourteen and higher. Statistically very few Apollo users are all the same on these older versions (well under 1% of users) and the work to maintain these older versions and put off using nice, newer iOS features in full (SwiftUI, SceneDelegate, Combine, Swift Concurrency, etc.) is beginning to get a bit tough to maintain given the minor userbase (and I'chiliad merely one person edifice this app), so I figure now'south a good a time as for iOS 14 to become the base. Promise that'due south understandable.

Hope these first two weeks of 2022 have served you well, and if not, well I endeavour to make the rest happier through Apollo updates!

Absolutely Stellar App, Developer is 🔥

Apollo is by far the most-used app on my phone (and now I have the ScreenTime reports to prove information technology). Information technology is orders of magnitude better than the "official" reddit app and is superior in every style. It is fast and smooth and packed with features. I especially love that I can pick the theme I want, change the icon, and remove ads! The affair I hated near well-nigh the official app was the ads that were disguised as legitimate posts and with Apollo that's all gone!

I bought the Pro upgrade months ago to proceeds admission to additional features and it was 1 of the few in-app purchases I have never regretted or felt similar wasn't worth the price. Today the developer released an update calculation a bunch of new features that require a very reasonable (seems underpriced to be honest) monthly subscription, and like a true bro he has the pick to unlock information technology for life with a onetime purchase! I hate monthly and even yearly subscriptions so I especially appreciated this pick.

All that by itself should convince yous that this app is worth it, just the thing that really seals the deal is the programmer. He is astonishing. Super active with feedback and very open in his communication about the condition of the app's development and requested features.

Fantastic Reddit customer for iPhone

From kickoff use, this app is a joy to use. It integrates incredibly well with the balance of iOS. The default settings are mostly intuitive (especially for first fourth dimension users) and for those places where the app doesn't do what you wait, the available options are extensive.

What prompted me to write this review was really a feature of the Ultra subscription (also available as a ane fourth dimension buy). I'd put off purchasing Ultra for a while, as the biggest draw to me was the message/answer notifications but I still used Narwhal for that. I recently subscribed to support the developer, and got my first notification. It'southward nifty, information technology feels like an iMessage notification with a quick reply sheet opening up so I can answer with the like shooting fish in a barrel option to open the full app likewise.

The one limitation I come across with this app is the iPad interface. It is not likewise thought out as the iPhone interface; information technology'southward basically a scaled up version of the iPhone interface. But as an iPhone app, this is the best Reddit client I've used (I even adopt information technology over the quondam and new website on a "existent" computer).
